My first stay in Africa - I tagged along with my dear friends Yvonne and Ray. Needed some sun after winter in England, but oh! found so much more. Lots to see and do: crocodiles, museums, restaurants, markets to die for, beautiful beaches. I enjoyed the culture, being immersed in local activities and chatting to everyone. So much better than being confined in a huge hotel. All this, of course, was due to Heather and Moses and staff at Farakunku. The site is superb, the gardens beautiful and the food healthy and delicious. You have created a wonderful place here where guests want for nothing…it’s heavenly. I can’t imagine the work you have all done to achieve this. A perfect place to stay. Thank you.

And it came to pass later on the 27th day of March Twenty Seventeen that we arrived at Farakunku Lodges in need of the peace and tranquillity of our friend Heather and Moses’s haven of hospitality. Later because our flight out with Thomas Cook was unable to put enough fuel on board to complete the journey without stopping at Las Palmas!!

Oh what a joy it has been here. Good food, comfy lodge, great staff, wonderful surroundings plus Heather and Moses.

We have had some good trips out to see real Gambia. The fishing village beach at 5pm was incredible…a lasting memory. Many thanks to all…I am sorry but we will return!

Oh …I forgot to mention the 30th March was my birthday. Heather and Moses arranged for a drum group and fantastic dancers to come along for a ‘birthday/end of season shindig.’ It was a great night enjoyed by all…the drummers, dancers, us, all the staff and our hosts. Moses is a great drummer and mover too!
